Sunset at sunset
My son laughed in the freezing November tide.
I thought about my father taking me to the beach
and how he would go so far out into the ocean by himself,
leaving me to watch from the distant shore.
Each time he disappeared behind a wave I waited in anticipation for him to reemerge.
My heart was filled with a sick unspoken dread that the sea monsters would take my dad.
But each time his head would reappear and I would say a prayer of thanks.
Now, my son, ran to the ocean. Unafraid.
I ran behind him, took his hand, and held on tightly.
If the sea monsters want him, they've got to take me first.

What a GREAT looking boy Truth and what a GREAT post... Thank You...
Thanks.
He's a very good boy with a kind, tender heart. He is a blessing to me each and every day.
Great stuff truth.
Glad to see you posting again!
I look forward to coming back often.
Great to be posting again. Sorry for the hiatus. Just didn't feel motivated. I'm going to your site right now!
Grabby Granny is GLAD (Smiling) Truth is back...
First of all, take that time/date stamp off your camera before you take a pic that great. And the words were great. Great.
Until he asks for the car and you say no and he beats your ass and steals mama's checkbook....enjoy it. Oh, that's right, that was YOU. Nice kid.
I like the time/date stamp so I can identify the time the picture was taken easily. But, you're right, it ruins a good photo and once on there, I can't figure a way to get it off without cropping the picture.
Thanks for the compliment on the words. I'm trying to say what I feel without analyzing it.
I can only imagine what the future holds. I'm really enjoying and cherishing the sweet years cause I know that eventually I'm going to get paid back for things I did.
That's a defeatist attitude. You are beautiful, you've just never understood what sells.
Jesus is coming soon and he'll hug you and speak to you with complete understanding. He isn't up there with folded arms and a voodoo doll of Toddy.
Yeah, I know. That's Uncle Wayne.
"You've just never understood what sells" Now, THAT, is one of the most insightful things anyone has ever said about me.
you used to mark the milk line with a pen, you do know what it sells FOR.
Steve
Thanks for fixing my picture. That put a real smile on my face on a very blue morning.
I used that line so I would know when to add water and take it back to the Food Line (intentionally mispelled to reflect truth) and trade it in for a new jug.
What do you think Elizabeth is doing in jail?
Playing a good game of chess...
It just hit me how the waves covering your dad was so Jack Handeyish. I was expecting him to be pulled under by a 60 foot tentacle. "and then I yelled at that thing to let him go..."
Stay tuned for more fuzzy memories.
