With my baby

I go over the hill on the highway
already knowing what i'm gonna see.
Mangled minivans and Toyotas
and body pieces-- blood in the trees.
I have to glide into the grass
with my supershiny rollerskates
to dodge what's left of the commuters
who didn't reach the pearly gates.

I won't let go of your hand
and there's no way for us to slow down
We just keep rolling in front of the monsters
who will chase us into town.

The buildings look bigger than the way we left them.
I don't remember how we got so far off track.
What was that show that use to come on TV?
The one that started with Welcome Back?

Was their a spinoff or a reunion?
Or was that just another forgotten dream.
I work to connect the garbage in my mind
while the skates begin to scream.

We're going down way too fast right now
there's nothing left for us to do
Just kiss me as the morning comes
and I'll be glad to die with you.

I should have smoked that last cigarette
Shoulda pissed in your mama's well
What good are seven holy sacraments
when we're all gonna land in hell?

Grip my hand a little tighter, baby.
They're coming up fast behind.
We'll be the latest pile of blood and guts
the one's behind us will find.
