My stuffed heart

Thanksgiving is probably my least favorite holiday.

I always eat too much and then feel miserable for the weekend that follows.

This year, however, was pretty enjoyable. Instead of sitting around bloating in front of the TV, my son and I ventured out to the park. He burned calories while I tried my best to get him to sit still for a picture. This one is about as close as he got.

When we got home, I was going through some papers on my desk when I found a crudely colored picture of a turkey that my son had made. Near the bottom of the page was printed the question "For what are you Thankful"

On the lines beneath it, I read two words that made me appreciate living:

MY DADDY.

(sniff, sniff)

Sawyers getting soooooo big!
Don't they know how to rip your heart out without even trying?
I have a framed piece of paper that was written many years ago by my grandaughter.. It simply says, Thank you Granny and Pappy for all you've done for me.. Started crying at 'first word'...
