The final days

I know what I'm going to say sounds crazy. Maybe it even is crazy. You are certainly free to disagree.

Years ago, when Obama spoke at the Democratic National Convention, I told my wife he would be our next President. I've never wavered from that belief. I also told her that I thought he either was the antichrist or would play a central role in establishing the antichrist.

I still believe that.

First, he is immensely popular and benefitted from a meteoric rise from nothing to the place he is. Can anyone explain how so many people would hinge on his every word? Second, there is doubt to his actual birthplace. Has that REALLY been proven.

But beyond Obama, many things speak of the ends of time. The world economy is plummeting, our leaders are weak and powerless to fix anything. We live in a world of increasing greed, sin, immorality, and we've appointed ourselves demi-Gods.

There is a doomsday prophecy of 2012 that fits in pretty well to the biblical prophecy for the end of times. The bible calls for a 7 year period of tribulation. There are different theories, but the gist is that God's Church will be raptured at some point during that 7 years. Either at the beginning, in the middle, or in the end.

Obama has begun his Presidency in the year 2009. Changes to our systems and government and a shifting landscape of economies is happening at a frightening and rapid pace. Many who are suffering in this downturn may agree that the tribulation has already begun.

Now, let's look at this 2012 prophecy that is not biblical. If the second half of the tribulation is to include unspeakable disasters (much worse than the first half) and the tribulation started at the end of 2008/beginning of 2009, then the midpoint would be EXACTLY 2012.

I know it's a reach but it's a scary one.

I may be completely wrong about all of this. Even as I write it, it sounds like a conspiracy theory suitable fore "a Beautiful Mind". Heck, I want even mention the whole Super Collider experience or the impending asteroid hurtling towards earth or the natural catastrophe of global warming. We may not have to wait until 2012 to find out.
